Divine waters Uganda has been is implementing Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH)project in fifteen districts of Uganda since 2001. All our WASH project aimed at improving equitable distribution and effective usage and maintenance of Water Sanitation and Hygiene facilities by drilling new water sources, sensitizing communities on good hygiene and sanitation practices in order to reduce incidences of diseases infection by encouraging community to practice good hygiene and sanitation at household and school level. Training local management structures for sustainability, building the capacity of communities to initiate economic empowerment venture. Under our preventative maintenance model, DWU have empowered Hand Pump mechanics (HPM)through allocations of number of pumps under a HPM, common topics are water cycle, elements of a well, operational principles of hand pumps, preventative maintenance processes as opposed to corrective maintenance, standardization of pumps in Uganda, tool, skills and safety in pump repairs, pre-repair hand pump performance test, trouble shooting, well disinfection, hand pump repair record keeping, fishing, Hand pump repair ethics, roles and responsibilities of WSSC, prevention of safe water contamination at the water source, hygiene and sanitation promotion.
